Things to do in Chitwan National Park and Chitwan.

Chitwan National Park is not only famous for jungle safari. It is famous for so many different things, That will lead to cultural things, Natural resources, and some Religious place.
if you are traveling to Chitwan and if you, don’t know where to go, what to do in Chitwan then this article will help you to travel to Chitwan National Park and Chitwan Nepal.
There are many places, Like Elephant breeding Center, Elephant Bath, Bishazare Lake, Tharu Museum, Dev Ghat, etc and to visit this area you don’t need any special Guide.

Elephant Breeding Center( Chitwan National Park)

Elephant Breeding Center is one of the main attractions of Chitwan National Park. Mainly people go there to see baby Elephants.
Nepal Government is keeping some Elephants as domestic. They work for conservation, like patrolling in the Park, rescuing and Monitoring, and carrying food for the Rangers, Because Car doesn’t go everywhere in the Park.
Elephant Breeding Center is the Place where these Elephants become pregnant than Park put them here and look after them and when these baby Elephants become more than 2 years old they train them and use them for conservation propose.
You are traveling in Chitwan and want to visit in Elephant Breeding Center?
The Center is only 3km far from the center of Sauraha and the center is open for tourist;
morning time: 6 am to 10 am
Afternoon time: 4 pm to 6 pm
ticket: nrs 50/person.
Every day from 10 am to 4pm these Elephant goes to the jungle for feeding the grass.
cycling is the best way to visit the center, on the way to the breeding center there is a beautiful village of Tharu tribe of Chitwan and Tamang village.

The way of Elephant Bath is not good because sometimes Elephant is not happy to follow the command of the driver and maybe an accident.

The best way of doing Elephant Bath is feeding some Banana or some other food and putting water on the body of Elephant and wash them, they feel so nice and relax.

Elephant bath is also very popular things to do in Chitwan National park travel. Elephant Bath is an opportunity to go closer to the Elephant and take bath from Elephant. if you want to do Elephant Bath, you don’t need a special permit and you don’t need a guide to do this activity.
There is a place, in Sauraha, next to the Rapti river, Every day from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, you can walk there and do an Elephant bath. They charge you nrs 200 per person and to watch you need to pay it’s free. Doing an Elephant bath is like, you go on the back of an Elephant, and the driver commands the Elephant, and the Elephant throws water from its trunk. it goes about 10 minutes.


Elephant Stable in Chitwan National Park

Elephant Stable is one of the best places to see Elephant during your travel in Chitwan National Park. visiting Elephant stable is free to visit and it is open for tourists from 7 am-10 am in the morning and 4 pm to 6 pm in the afternoon. Elephant from this stable belongs to the government and our government is using them for conservation propose.




Wildlife Display Center & Information Center

Wildlife Display Center is also one of the palaces to visit during your travel to Chitwan National Park Nepal. It is the museum of wildlife, where you see, Display of wildlife.
You can see skulls, plaster cast footprint, a rather macabre display of rare Animals formaldehyde, and wild Animals dong.
it is only 1km far from the center of Sauraha and the entrance of this place is only nrs 50 pre person.




Tharu Cultural Meuseum

Overnight stay in Jungle on tower

Overnight stay in Jungle is also one of the best jungle safari in Chitwan National Park. There is a wooden tower with a bed, bedsheet, blankets, and a toilet in the jungle. Night staying tower is made of timber wood and the first floor of the tower is 15-20 feet high from the ground, and the pillar of it, is strong, even Elephant can’t break it. Overnight stay is safe.

overnight stay tower is situated next to the river or next to the grassland and next to the animal’s track in the Buffer zone of the Chitwan National Park. staying in an Overnight tower is one of the best ways to see rare and nocturnal animals. such as Rhinos, Tiger, Bear, Deer, Birds, etc.

   overnight stay is assisted by Certified Nature Guide. Staying overnight in the jungle you can feel the night wildlife of the jungle and it is possible to hear the wildlife sound such as tiger roar, insect, birds, etc. it is possible to see a firefly, full of the star in the sky.

Canoeing trip/ Boat safari

Our Nepali canoe is dugout and made by a single trunk of the tree. There was a time in Nepal and was not any bridge to cross the rivers. so this type of canoe was used to cross the river and there are Bote and Maji tribes live in the Terai area. and those people are using for fishing in a river. it is a traditional Canoe.

         Dugout Canoeing trip is one of the best safari and things to do in Chitwan National Park. if you are willing to see rare and critically endangered  Gariyal crocodile and Magar crocodile in their habitat then this trip is the best for you. Canoeing trip held in a Rapti river, Narayani river, Dhungre rivers, Budirapti river. 

There will be a Certified Nature Guide and one paddler on the Canoe. The guide will be seating in front of you and the paddler will seat on the last. Canoeing goes downstream. canoeing trip is the best for the Birding, you can see many colorful birds during the trip and even it is possible to see many animals in the River such as rhino, deer, monkeys, etc. and a beautiful view of the landscape.

  you can do 1 hours canoeing, 2 hours and 4 hours canoeing trip in your Chitwan visit.
